Keith Wayne Fecht, 81, of Gothenburg, passed away on July 29, 2009 at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg, NE.
He was born on March 24, 1928 to Johann and Ethel (Shaffer) Fecht at Gothenburg, NE. He grew up in Gothenburg and graduated from Gothenburg High School in 1946. Following graduation he entered the United States Air Force on October 20, 1948 and served until August 30, 1952. He served for 8 months in Korea during the Korean War as an automotive mechanic.
On March 8, 1952 he married Betty Trosper at the Banner United Methodist Church. To this union three children where born Wayne, Katherine and Micheal. Keith and Betty lived and farmed in the Gothenburg area for over 50 years.
After Keith quit farming, he enjoyed gardening and raising chickens. He also enjoyed hunting and trapping.
Keith is survived by his loving spouse of 57 years Betty, sons Wayne (Sandy) Fecht of Salem, OR; Micheal (Mary) Fecht of Wray, CO; daughter Katherine (Jerry) Donner of North Platte, NE; brother John Burrell Fecht of Yakama, WA; sisters Corinne (Carol) Sappingfield of Gothenburg, NE, Bonnita (Denny) Thompson of Fountain Hills, AZ, Lorene (Dan) Billington of Folkston, GA; sister-in-law Bernadine Fecht of Gothenburg, 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by father, Johann Janssen Fecht, mother, Ethel Vivian Fecht, grandson David Donner brother, Don Fecht; sister-in-law Marilyn Fecht, brothers-in-law Harlan Ackerman and Mearl Wallace; and nephew Dwight Ackerman.
