Juliet Perri Strasburg passed away suddenly on the morning of April 29th, 2016 at Children’s Hospital.
Juliet was born May 15, 2014 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Kearney, NE.
Soon our sweet baby girl began to write a story that would take us on an unbelievable journey.
She was diagnosed with Vici Syndrome at 7 months. She battled the rare disease bravely, which brought many hard days and many days in the hospital. Despite this she never ceased to amaze us, with her stubborn will, her beauty, her strength, her courage.
With Juliet’s passing we remind others that her life is one to be celebrated. There was very rarely a room that wasn’t lit up by Juliet’s blonde curls, there was even and unofficial Juliet’s Hair Fan Club. In life we must reach out of our comfort zone and Juliet was very good about getting you out of your comfort zone.
Juliet loved listening to her favorite Pandora radio station, getting pretty for the day with a hair bow always in her hair, lipsmackers chapstick, her brother and sister playing nearby, cuddles in the rocking chair, working hard for her therapists and loves from grandmas and grandpas, aunties, uncles, cousins and friends.
The journey was hard and bumpy but the love and support from her wonderful family, numerous dear friends and community gave her family strength.
Juliet was blessed with so many wonderful caregivers that provided compassion and support for both Juliet and her family. Juliet’s loves extends to her 4th floor family at Children’s in Omaha, who fought very hard to make sure nobody else in the hospital got her. The PICU team at Children’s who got to care for her way more than Mom or Dad wanted. And all her Hospitalists, Therapists, and Specialty Physicians at Children’s. Her team in Kearney, Dr. Howe and Dr. Casper as well as nurses. Her night nurses, her Home Health nurses and therapists. All of these special people, too numerous to mention, provided Juliet with unending compassionate care, to which her family will be forever grateful.
Juliet is survived by her parents, Justin and Jailyn Strasburg; sister Piper and brother Parker; grandparents, Keith and Jodi Carlson; Bob and Penny Allen; Kevin and Ann Strasburg. Aunts and Uncles; Jordan and Liz Carlson, Peter and Joelle Hargadine; Tyler and Candi Lewis, Clark and Mindy McConnell; Cousins Lainy, Gideon, and Claire Carlson; Breckyn and Creighton Lewis, and Tristen and Reed McConnell; great grandparents, Paul and Patricia Thompson, and Ruth Carlson; Aunt Nancy; and many extended family.
