Juanita Bratcher

Juanita (Jane) Bratcher, 79 of Gothenburg, Nebraska passed away August 14, 2021 at Hilltop Estates.

She was born October 30, 1941 in San Antonio, Texas, daughter of Arturo Chapa and Albertina Lopez-Chapa.

She attended San Antonio Public Schools and San Antonio Commercial College before meeting her husband, Arnold Bratcher. They moved to Auburn, Nebraska where she became an administrative assistant for Nebraska City Utilities in Nebraska City, NE for many years and later worked in the International Agribusiness department at The Hartford in Omaha, NE. After retiring in 2009, she moved to Gothenburg to be closer to her daughter and family. After battling some illness, she entered Hilltop Estates in November of 2015.

When she was able, Jane enjoyed walking and going for drives with her dog. She was also an avid fan of the series, ER, watching all 15 seasons over and over and she was entertained when she attended "Move and Groove" sessions at Hilltop.

Jane is survived by her daughter, Stacy Healey, son-in-law, Chris Healey; grandsons, Will Healey and Ryan Healey and granddaughters; Eve and Layla Healey. She was the oldest of eight children survived by brothers; Rudy Chapa, Ozzie Chapa, and Ty Chapa, sisters, Bertha Rojas and Olga Lillagore, along with other loving family members in Texas. Jane is also survived by brother-in-law Ron Bratcher and sister-in-law, Donna Bratcher.

Jane is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Arnold; son, Chris Bratcher, sister; Yolanda Chapa and brother; Arturo Chapa Jr.

A family graveside service will take place at a later date. Memorials can be made to Hilltop Estates, 2520 Avenue M, Gothenburg, NE 69138.
