Jodi L. Bebensee, 61, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died September 3, 2021 at Gothenburg Health.
She was born March 12, 1960 in Minden, NE, to Lamoine and Verna Mae (Dejonge) Jelkin. She attended Hildreth High School and graduated in 1978.
She married Jim Bebensee on April 11, 1981 in Hildreth. They were blessed with three boys: Casey, Cody and Coltin. They shared many adventures together living in Canada, Wyoming and Colorado before returning to Nebraska to be closer to family.
She was a member of the American Lutheran Church, and a women’s quilting club. She loved spending time with friends drinking wine and sharing laughs. Jodi loved going camping, tending to her flowers, and most of all, she loved spending time with her kids and grandkids. Jodi always made the people around her smile.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Jim Bebensee of Gothenburg, NE; three sons, Casey (Chelsie) Bebensee of Kearney, Ne, Cody Bebensee of Gothenburg, NE, and Coltin Bebensee of Blair, Ne; grandchildren, Olivia and Quinn Bebensee, Cameron, Keaton, Halleigh, Ryker, and Ember Bebensee, and Brayden Bebensee. Mother, Verna Mae Jelkin of Hildreth; four brothers, Jim (Connie) Jelkin of Kearney, John (Diane) Jelkin of Lincoln, Joel (Jan) Jelkin of Fremont, Ne, Jay (Stacy) Jelkin of Omaha, and one sister Jayne (Greg) Werner of Kearney.
Jodi was preceded in death by her dad, Lamoine Jelkin, and nephew Christopher Werner.
Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Thursday, September 9, 2021, 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM.
Services will be held Friday, September 10, 2021 at 10:30 AM at the American Lutheran Church, Gothenburg, NE with Pastor Jon Mapa officiating.
Interment will follow at 2:30 PM at the St. Peters Cemetery, Hildreth, NE.
