Jimmy Eugene Sabin, 78, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died January 23, 2020 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, NE.
He was born March 26, 1941 in Gothenburg, NE, son of Charles and Hazel Sabin. Jimmy married June DeLosh on August 9, 1958 at Lexington.
Jimmy worked for many years as a truck driver and enjoyed going for drives out in the country, working on cars and riding his motorcycle. He loved to be out of doors - hunting, fishing, trapping and was a member of the Hunting and Fishing Association. He was very fond of his animals, especially his guineas. Jimmy loved going to the mountains and hunt for gold. He enjoyed watching western shows and collecting things. His family was important to him and he loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren, in the spirit of fun and orneriness, he gave each one a special nickname.
Surviving are wife, June Lee Sabin, and their children Peggy Staley, Larry (Dani) Sabin, Sam (Melissa) Sabin and Cathy Sabin; 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren, his siblings, Raymond "Tony" Sabin, Dan (Marilyn) Sabin, Patsy (Henry) Dishman, Janice (Bobbie) Linden, Connie (Doug) Sitorious, Rod (Lori) Sabin, Darla (Les) Pelzer, along with numerous extended family and friends.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents Charles "Buck" and Sybil "Belle" (Collicott) Sabin; infant sister Peggy Ann, three infant children - Gary, Linda and Jodi; infant grandchild Jeffery Sabin; two brothers Dennis "Joe" and Richard "Dick" Sabin, sister-in-law Jeane Sabin.
Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Thursday, January 30, 2020, 1:00 pm - 7:00 pm with the family present from 4:00 - 6:00 pm.
Funeral services will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, January 31, 2020 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Larry Viter officiating.
Interment will follow in the Peckham Cemetery, Gothenburg, Nebraska.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
