Jesse Alberts, 82, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died December 8, 2010 in Gothenburg, NE.
He was born February 10, 1928 on the family farm northwest of Gothenburg, NE, son of Charlie and Hilway (Haddad) Alberts. He was a son of immigrant parents and knew what work was.
He attended rural School District 161 in Custer County and graduated from Gothenburg High in 1945. He married Joleene Kay Shelley.
He owned Jesse's Exon Service Station in Gothenburg; their motto was "We'll Put a Tiger In Your Tank". He moved to Vail, CO in 1967 and owned a service station there. He moved to Edwards, CO in 1970, where he resided until recently. He enjoyed hunting elk, deer and especailly, pheasants, with his 10 gauge. He also enjoyed fishing in the Eagle River that ran along his place in Edwards.
Surviving are his brother, George C Alberts of Gothenburg, NE; brother, Emil Alberts of Gothenburg, NE; twin sister Bessie (Tony) Shada, 9 nieces and nephews; numerous great nieces and nephews.
Jesse was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jolene Alberts; brothers: Alfred and Johnny Alberts; nephew, Lane Alberts.
