Jeff Bargholz

Jeff Thomas Bargholz,  59, of Kearney, NE, son of Patricia Thompson, Gothenburg, NE died February 25, 2017 at CHI Good Samaritan Health in Kearney, NE.

Jeff was born June 1, 1957 in San Diego, CA, son of Clarence and Patricia (Kase) Bargholz.  In 1974 , after his mother married Paul Thompson of Gothenburg, Jeff moved to Nebraska.  Jeff lived a short time in North Platte where he attended school earning his High School Certificate.   Jeff later moved to Ord where he lived independently for 25 years under the care of MId Nebraska Developmental Services.  Jeff moved to Kearney in 2011  as a resident of Developmental Services of Nebraska (DSN) until his passing.  DSN staff and other residence became his second family.  Jeff truly enjoyed and dearly loved them all.

Jeff worked various jobs through out the years but one of his favorites was his paper route. Jeff loved fishing and enjoyed it anytime he could go. His robust laugh, love for teasing others and direct opinions will sincerely be missed.

Jeff is survived by his mother, Patricia Thompson and step father Paul Thompson of Gothenburg, NE; his sister, Jodi  (Keith) Carlson of Gothenburg, NE; half sister Dorrie Umlauf of Reno, NV; step sister Dianne Thompson of Cleveland, OH; step brother Richard Thompson of Detroit, MI along with numerous nieces and nephews and host of friends and caretakers.

Jeff was preceded in death by father, Clarence Bargholz.

Jeff will be laid to rest along side his father in the Fireman's Circle at the Greenwood Memorial Park, San Diego, CA. Graveside Services will be held at 10:30 am, Monday, March 6, 2017 at Greenwood Memorial Park, San Diego, CA.

Memorials may be sent to the family and will be used to  purchase a Memorial Bench in Jeff's honor.  The bench will be donated to the residence at DSN to enjoy at the facility in Kearney.
