A memorial service for Dawson County native, Jean Ralston will be held at 2 pm Thursday, April 26, 2007 at Blase Memorial Chapel at in Gothenburg, NE with Rev. Randy Dilts officiating. é� Jean Ralston, 93, passed away Friday evening, March 9, 2007 at St. Josephé�a��a��s Hospital in Stockton, California. She was born January 7, 1914 in Brady, Nebraska to Samuel (Dupree) and Jessie Johnston Ralston. She grew up in Cozad, Nebraska and graduated from Cozad high school.é� é� Jean was a career educator. She started teaching in 1935 at a country school in Nebraska and later taught in Colorado and Prescott, Arizona before going to Stockton, California in 1952. Jean worked for Stockton Unified as a teacher, reading specialist and then principal. She continued to work on special projects for the district and volunteered at local schools after retiring at age 62. Jean was a 48 year member of Chapter NH, P.E.O. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Ralston, and several cousins including Gothenburg, residents Hugh Ralston and Arch Trimble. She is survived by many friends and several cousins including Gothenburg resident, Wally Trimble. é� Interment was in the Gothenburg Cemetery.é� Funeral services were held at the Chapel of the Palms Funeral Home in Stockton, California on March 21, 2007.
