Janet Holstein

Janet Ruth Holstein, 67, of Omaha, Nebraska, died February 7, 2016 at the Douglas County Health Center after a battle with cancer.

She was born December 8, 1948 in Broken Bow, NE, daughter of Joseph A Beck  and Neva Bell (Bohlke) Beck.

Jan married Marty Holstein on April 24, 1998 in Las Vagas, NV.  Jan loved cats and enjoyed rescuing them, she enjoyed going for walks.  Jan was a hard worker and worked several jobs before her health forced her to stop working.  Jan loved singing and she had been a part of the Nebraska Choral Arts.   She enjoyed listened to Christian Programming.  Jan was a Big Red enthusiast.

Surviving are husband, Marty Holstein of Omaha, NE, daughter, Jennifer Holstein of Lincoln, NE, son, Dustin (Hilary) Holstein of York, NE, daughter, Jessica Holstein of Omaha, NE, grandchildren, Trenton, Madison, Warren Holstein, brother, Roger (Hanneke) Beck and family of WA, niece, Kathi (John) Geringer and family of Omaha, NE, sister, Robin (Jim) Balthrop and family of OK, mother-in-law, Ruth Holstein of Lincoln, NE, sister-in-law, Margaret (Bill) Gibson and family of Fremont, NE, sister-in-law, Ellen (Pat) Beans and family of Lincoln, NE, numerous other family and friends.

Janet was preceded in death by father, Joseph A Beck, mother, Neva Bell Beck Iler.

Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Friday, February 12, 2016, 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm.

Graveside services will be held at Gothenburg Cemetery, Friday, February 12, 2016 at 3:00 pm with Pastor Larry Viter officiating.
