Ivar "Bud" Johnson

August 17, 1925 — February 26, 2015

Ivar "Bud" Wayne Johnson, 89, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 26, 2015 in Gothenburg, NE.

He was born August 17, 1925 in Gothenburg, NE, son of Ivar Oscar and Ruth Edith (Larson) Johnson.

Bud grew up in Gothenburg and graduated with the class of 1943.  At the age of 12 Bud accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.  While he was in high school he joined the Baptist church.  Bud was a loyal and faithful member of the First Baptist Church for over 72 years. He dearly loved his Church and served in all aspects. Bud spent his working career at the Gothenburg State Bank.  He was a member of the Gideon's International. Bud loved humor and always enjoyed joking around.  Bud was the self proclaimed #1 Husker fan and still has his season tickets.

Survivors include his sister, Helen Jean Johnson of Gothenburg, NE, his cousins Eleanor Johnson, Crystal Johnson, and Barbara Johnson and many other relatives and friends.

Ivar "Bud" was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Genevieve Johnson, and his brother Glen Johnson.

Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Tuesday, March 3, 2015, 1:00 pm - 8:00 pm.

Services will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, March 4, 2015 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Bill Ivey officiating.

Interment will follow in the Gothenburg Cemetery, Gothenburg, Nebraska.
