Helen Delyia Wear, 92, of Maywood, passed away on December 11, 2009 at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg, NE.

She was born on May 28, 1917 to Clifford Evert and Millie Elizabeth (Doyle) Flock at South of Maywood, NE. She graduated from Maywood High School in 1934. On May 24, 1939 she married Alfred at the Elm Creek, NE. To this union two children were born Clifford and Clinton.

In 1943 she went to work driving truck hauling cattle for her Uncle Hazel Gilliland while Alfred was in the Service. When Alfred returned from the service Helen stayed home with her boys. In 1953 the family moved from Farnam to Elsie. In 1960 they moved back to Farnam. She went to work for Abbies in Eustis and later at the Broken Spoke in Farman.

Helen was very active in the Boy Scouts of America for over twenty years. She traveled all over the state to follow her grandchildren’s activities. She was an avid camper, enjoyed fishing and crocheting. Helen's favorite time of year was anytime the family would gather together. She collected salt and pepper shakers and enjoyed garage sales.

Helen is survived by her son Clifford (Sandy) Wear of Eustis, NE; granddaughters - Billie (James) Taylor of Cambridge, NE; Amber Wear of Cozad, NE; grandson Brandon Wear of Omaha, NE; great-grandchildren Cole, Lora, August, Sky, Lillian, Courtney, Candace; great-great granddaughter Jordan; sister-in-law Lewise Smallfoot of Grand Island, NE; daughter-in-law Mary Wear of Carlsbad, NM; and numerous nieces, nephews and special friends.

She was preceded in death by husband, Alfred W. Wear, father Clifford Evert Flock, mother Millie Elizabeth Flock, Son, Clinton Wear and brother, Harlan Flock.
