Hazel Bacon

Hazel Helen Bacon, 89, of Gothenburg, passed away on August 21, 2009 at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg, NE.

She was born on November 12, 1919 to Monte and Otie Belle (Estes) Cloyd at Gothenburg, NE. Hazel graduated from Gothenburg High School. On August 4, 1940 she married Hubert Bacon at Elwood, NE. To this union four children were born Jerry, Linda, Richard and Eddie Lee.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church for over 65 years. When she was younger she taught the four and five year old Sunday school. She later helped with Awana and Mops. She was also a member of the Gardenairs.

Hazel is survived by her daughter Linda (Mark) Prigge of Oakdale, MN; sons Jerry (Susan) Bacon of Gothenburg, NE, Richard (Pat) Bacon of Glenwood City, WI; grandchildren Tammi, Scott, and Jonathan Prigge; Jason and Andrew Bacon, Camilla Canning, Amanda Shively, ten great-grandchildren; and special niece Joyce Sabin.

She was preceded in death by her husband Hubert Edward Bacon; father Monte Cloyd, mother Otie Belle Cloyd, son Eddie Lee Bacon, Sisters Eva Sabin and Mable Tunison and Brother Harry Cloyd.
