Harvey Wing, 90, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died December 15, 2021 iat Gothenburg Health in Gothenburg.
He was born August 21, 1931 in Smithfield, NE, son of Luther Marvin and Wilmetta Vida ( Hyslop) Wing.
Harvey married Lillie Elizabeth Thomason in 1950, and later divorced and then married his second wife Sarah (Potter) Wing Moon, they later divorced and then Harvey remarried his first wife Lillie in 1983.
He loved his morning and afternoon coffee breaks that were spent with many old friends. He was a prominent member of the community during his lifetime and was involved with many groups and organizations. He especially loved his grandchildren and there are lots of them. He loved all kids. He seemed to know everybody and everybody knew him. He was an Avid Golfer, even when he wasn't able to do anymore than drive the cart? He loved camping, in his younger years he spent almost every weekend at Jeffrey Lake.
Harvey served in the National Guard for eons it felt like. He drove tanks because of his small stature. Because of his past experience operating tanks for the National Guard he was asked to "Drive" the tank for relocation at the Armory in Lexington. Harvey lived in Lexington and Gothenburg for the majority of his life. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gothenburg. He was proud to be a member of the Wing Family of America, INC.
Survivors include wife, Lillie "Betty" Elizabeth Wing of Gothenburg; two daughters, Debbie Mayers of Gothenburg, Laurie Summers of Grant; son, Harvey David (Jean) Wing of Milford, MA; sister, Norma (Rex) Robison of Cozad; brother, Charles Daniels of San Diego, CA; 76 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; three step children Michael Ryan, Cathie Mall and Kirt Ryan.
Harvey was preceded in death by parents, daughter, Patty Koch, sister, Patsy (Wing) Loschen; brother, Lawrence Marvin Wing, Lee Daniels, infants Ronald and Harriet Daniels, his ex wife, Sarah (Wing) Moon, step son Keith Ryan and three grandsons.
Services will be held at First Baptist Church, December 29, 2021 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Dan Urman officiating.
Interment will follow in the Robb Cemetery, Lexington, Nebraska.
Memorials may be given to the Gothenburg Meals On Wheels program.
