Harvey Brown

October 8, 1916 — April 22, 2010

Harvey E. Brown was born Oct. 8, 1916 in the Finchville community near Arnold. His young life was spent greatly enjoying school, dancing, and life on the farm/ranch. He loved nature and animals. Harvey married Ruth Whitney in Reno, Nevada on Oct. 19, 1940--they were married over 68 years. In Feb., 1941 they returned to the Brown farm in Lincoln and Logan counties. Harvey enjoyed people, he looked forward to family birthday parties, holidays, and his children's childhood friends remained close to him always. Harvey served in a leadership position in Farm Bureau for many years. He received his 60 year membership pin from the Masonic Lodge.

Harvey was baptized in the Arnold Baptist Church and found inspiration, grace and faith there.

Harvey took pride in his grandson's Arin and Dagin Duryea and cherished his granddaughter, Leah and their fun times spent together. Several young children of the family came to visit in the summers and Harvey delighted in having them.
Harvey is survived by daughter Cheri (John) Koinzan, Broken Bow and Grandson Dagin; daughter Valarie (Robert) Jackson, Maxwell; granddaughter Leah (Ivan) Miller, Maxwell; great grandchildren Jessi and Brian Miller. He is survived by special friends John Halstead, Lester McMurray and a dear companion at Stone Hearth, Darline Price. Harvey is survived by many wonderful staff and friends at Stone Hearth in Gothenburg.
