Gregory Garrett Vreeland, 53, of Curtis passed away May 25, 2007 in Curtis, NE. Greg was born November 29, 1953 at Kearney, NE to Nelson Eugene Jr. Vreeland and Mary Lou (Florom) Vreeland. He grew up and attended school in Curtis, NE. He graduated from Medicine Valley High School in 1972.
Greg enlisted in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1974. Greg has worked as a Railroad Conductor, was a liquor store owner, and most recently was a Nuclear Medicine Technologist. Greg earned a degree in Nuclear Medicine in Santa Barbara, CA in 1990. Greg has lived and worked in Santa Barbara, CA; Honolulu, Hawaii; St. Thomas and Las Vegas, NV.
Greg had a love for the outdoors. He especially enjoyed fishing, camping and golfing. He also enjoyed traveling, photography and sports but most of all enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Greg is survived by his mother Mary Lou Vreeland of Curtis, NE; two brothers Kirk Vreeland of Kansas City, MO; Mark (Barb) Vreeland of Keller, TX; four sisters LaDonna (Jerry) Sundquist of Curtis, NE; Deb Vreeland of Omaha, NE; Kelly (Randy) Peterson of Amherst, NE; Denise (Jerry) Wilcox of Curtis, NE; two half sisters Vicky Vreeland of Redmond, WA and Candy Vreeland of Palm Springs, CA. and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Nelson E. Vreeland, Jr.
Visitation will be held 9:00 am to 8:00 pm, Monday, May 28 at Blase-Wetzel-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Curtis, Nebraska. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at the United Methodist Church, Curtis, Nebraska, with Rev. Kevin Burkhardt officiating.
Burial will take place at in the Curtis Cemetery, Curtis, NE.
