Gladys M. Larson, 98 formerly of North Platte died April 3, 2010 at Gothenburg Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Larson was born August 31, 1911 in Clarks, Nebraska to Winter and Bessie Skow. She graduated from Central City High School and attend Nebraska Christian College.
She married C. Leonard Larson on January 9, 1932. They made their home in Clarks, Nebraska later moving to Loveland, Colorado and finally to North Platte, Nebraska where she lived for 45 years.
Gladys worked in North Platte at W.T. Grant Store, and Weidner Pharmacy. She loved to travel, sew, garden and bake cookies for her family and friends. In her later years and until the age of 90 she enjoyed swimming with her friends every morning. Her biggest joy in life was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She always attended every holiday and every event she could. She was a 50 year member of the First United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Larson is survived by her children, Royce (Lennie) Larson, Nevada City, CA., Richard (Connie) Larson, Gothenburg, NE., and Barbara (Kern) Harshbarger, Kearney, NE; nine grandchildren: Robert Eric Larson, Gerald Andrew Larson, Christopher Steven Larson, Debbie Dawn Rubenthaler, Todd Winter Larson, John Eric Larson, Shawn Kern Harshbarger, Kellie Lynn Shield, Kyle David Harshbarger, and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Winter and Bessie Skow, husband Leonard Larson, brother Gilbert Skow, and two infant sisters.
