Biography

Gladys Esther Ruth Hendrickson Jobman, 97 Home with her Savior


Gladys Jobman, 97, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, September 14, 2008, in Fort Collins, Colorado.


Gladys was born on the family farm in Wild Horse Valley on November 16, 1910 to Charles and Annie (Pohl) Hendrickson. She is the last surviving child of 8.


September 15, 1935 she married Harvey Jobman in the parsonage with a dinner following at her mother's home. They farmed north of Gothenburg until 1971. They enjoyed 63 years of marriage. She was an active extension club member, church worker, gardener and quilter. She extended gracious hospitality to friends and family. After moving to town, she was a part time employee at Kampfe's Department store.


She was preceded in death by her husband Harvey, in 2000: her granddaughter, Debra and many family members.


Survivors include a son, Wallace (Melody) of Red Feather Lakes, Colorado; grandson, Michael (Linda); Simon (Heidi), and great grandchildren, Eli, Sophia, and Cooper all of Ft. Collins. Gladys also leaves many treasured nieces, nephews and friends.


Visitation will be held Thursday, September 18, 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm with the family present from 6-8 at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 19, 10:00 am at the Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska, with Pastor David Thornberry officiating. Burial will take place in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
