Gladyce M. Youngberg, 98, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died September 16, 2011 at Linden Court in North Platte, NE.
Gladyce Marie was born on the family farm near Cozad, NE on May 23, 1913 to John W. and Selma (Erikson) Bellstrom. She grew up in the Gothenburg/Cozad communities. She attended Dawson County Middle 2 through 8th grade and then graduated from Gothenburg High School in 1932.
She Married Russell A. Youngberg at Ogallala, NE on September 18, 1935. To this union five children were born: Roberta, Mary Ann, Stanley, C. Edward, and Robert.
For over 80 years Gladyce was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gothenburg. The study of God's word and her faith in Jesus Christ were a major focus of her life. She enjoyed following the activities of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Gladyce was a great cook and enjoyed baking for her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling and was very proud of receiving the Pioneer Family Farm Award.
Gladyce is survived by her three sons, Stanley E. (Patricia) Youngberg of Wood Bridge, CT; C. Edward (Janet) Youngberg of Evergreen, CO; Robert J. Youngberg of Littleton, CO; two daughters, Roberta L. (Robert) Wilson of Hershey, NE; Mary Ann (Ron) Sobon of Omaha, NE; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; sister Lorene A. Wildes of Gothenburg; special friend, Judy Williams and sisters-in-law, June Tederman and Aileen Welsh.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Russell in 1994 and brother, H.O. (Bob) Tederman.
