Gerald 'Jerry' Lawson, 66, of Aurora formerly of Maywood died on November 21, 2008 following a battle with Cancer at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, NE
Jerry was born on December 22, 1941 at Kearney, NE and was raised by Howard and Martha (O'Neill) Nelson. He grew up in Kearney and Maywood, NE. He attended school at Maywood, graduating from Maywood High School in 1960.
Jerry was a member of Lions International and enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing cards and telling jokes. Jerry owned and operated Nelson Produce in Maywood.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, and grandparents.
Survivors include his two sons: Raymond (Pamela) Lawson of Hampton, NE and John (Shannon) Lawson of Hampton, NE; daughter Christine (Martin) Gugelman of Maywood, NE; two brothers: Tom (Bett) Lawson of Omaha, NE; and Denny (Jackie) Lawson of League City, TX; a sister Connie (Lew) Shoff of Bridgeport, NE; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 23, 2008, from 4-8 pm, at Blase-Wetzel-Strauser Memorial Chapel in Curtis, Nebraska.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, November 24, 2008 at the Maywood Methodist Church, with Pastor Stan LaRue officiating. Burial will take place in the Maywood Cemetery, Maywood, NE.
