Gage N. Ostergard, 88, of Gothenburg died September 19, 2011 at the Golden Living Center in Cozad, NE.
He was born November 20, 1922 on the family farm north Gothenburg, NE, to Samuel J. and Anna M.(Christensen) Ostergard.
He grew up on the farm which was in the Etna area. He attended country school through the 8th grade
and graduated from Gothenburg High School in 1941. He also attended the University of Nebraska. During
World War II, Gage served in the Air Force from Feb,23, 1942 to Feb, 23, 1946.
He and Sara Jane Moore were married July 7, 1946 at the Antelope Baptist Church at Gothenburg, NE. To
this union four children were born: Barb, Steve, Nic, and John.
Gage worked as a Farmer, Rancher for many years. He farmed south of North Platte from 1947-1955, Omaha
from 1953-1959 as a parts man for Cummins, and has lived in Gothenburg from 1959 to the present time.
He was a member of Dawson County Spare RibClub,and two card clubs. He was an avid sports fan of
football, basketball, volleyball and track.
Surviving are wife, Sara Jane, of Gothenburg, NE, three sons, Steve (JoAn) Ostergard of Gothenburg, NE, Nic (Karlene) Ostergard of Callaway, NE, John ( Janet) Ostergard of Grand Island, NE; one daughter, Barb (Chuck) Havlicek of Manhattan, KS; sister, Virgina ( Rodney) Sitorius; six grandchildren and four great-
grandchildren.
Gage was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Howard, Robert, and Gene.
