Frank Thierer

November 4, 1939 — September 11, 2011

F. Daryl Thierer, 71 of Maywood passed away suddenly on September 11, 2011 at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte, NE.

Daryl was born Frank Daryl Thierer on November 4, 1939 to Frank and June (Andrews) Thierer in Junction City, KS. Daryl grew up in Kansas graduating high school.

Daryl was a man who handled all of life's challenges with a big dose of humor and an unshakable Faith that Good will triumph over evil. He showed this best by his beloved passion for a simpler time, one filled with horses and cowboys in white hats. Daryl was known as the "Cowboy Banker". He loved the "Old West" lifestyle. He enjoyed trail riding with ole Ray and John in the Mountains. He liked to tell stories about all his experiences. Daryl was a true pioneer, bravely breaking new ground wherever life took him, so that others could follow safely after. He loved his family and friends, but he especially adored his grandchildren. He loved horses, cats and dogs and had a special friendship with his dog Pixie.

He will be warmly remembered by those who survive him - his wife, Lucy; daughters and their mother, Sara (Brian) Davenport, Emily (Tony) Thierer, and Pat; step-daughter, Ann (Travis) Collier; four grandchildren, Jesse Davenport, Lexi Catalano, Colby and Carlie Collier; brother, Barry (Sandy) Thierer and family and his best friends, Ray and John. Also survived by his mother-in-law Shirley Whitaker, Lucy's siblings: Dan, Barb, Jeannie, Mike, Jeff and families.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law Lewis Whitaker.

May the Lord's blessings be with all those who had the privilege of spending time with this inspirational man.
