Francis Osborn, 62, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died October 17, 2015 at his home in Gothenburg, NE.

He was born October 22, 1952 in Gothenburg, NE, son of Vance and Evelyn Osborn.

Francis grew up in Gothenburg and attended schools there. He joined the US Marines and served his country from 1973 to 1977. Francis worked for the City of Gothenburg in the Street Department for many years.  He was married to Linda Wise and later to JoAnn Kohler.  He married Amber Whauktush on May 9, 1986 at North Platte.

He was a member of the Gothenburg Presbyterian Church.  He loved to do mechanical work and work on engines - especially his motorcycles and old cars.  He was a member of the Pony Express Ramrodders and cooked for their events.  He enjoyed hunting especially black powder.  He volunteered for the civil defense. His cats were very important to him and he loved horses.

Surviving are wife, Amber Osborn of Gothenburg, children, Jeff (Dawn) Osborn of Tea, SD; Brian (Amy) Schroeder of Bertrand, NE; Heather Schroeder of Gothenburg, Jennifer (David) England, Yakima, WA; brother LeRoy Osborn of Gothenburg, step siblings Dan, Nate, Bill and Neda along with numerous extended family and friends and his special companion Bobo.

Francis was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister Mary and a great grand child Gabe.

Funeral Services will be held at Presbyterian Church, Friday, October 23, 2015 at 10:30 am with Pastors David & Jill Boyd officiating.

Interment will follow in the Gothenburg Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the Presbyterian Church and Children's Cancer Research.
