He traveled to Central and South America, China, Japan, and Hong Kong in an effort to promote agriculture and trade. Floyd has been a committed KAAPA Ethanol board member for the past eight years. He thoroughly enjoyed working with his fellow board members and was proud of the advancements they have achieved.
Floyd had strong faith in Jesus Christ. Through the years he served his church in many ways. Most recently he has enjoyed the fellowship of Men's Bible studies, his Sunday School class, and sharing his faith with others.
His interests and hobbies included: travel, aerial photography and crop observation, promoting agriculture and ethanol, machinery innovation, and relaxing at their cabin on Jeffery Lake. Floyd thoroughly loved flying powered parachutes. To share his passion with others he became a dealer, selling over 100 chutes in over five states, with two bound to an African Safari outfitter.
Floyd is survived by his loving wife, Marcy of Gothenburg, his children: Ross Wahlgren and his wife Suzie of Gothenburg, Lisa (Wahlgren) Pospisil and her husband Mark of Omaha, AR, and Jeffery Ristine and his wife Sonya of Warrenville, IL.
