Florence Kathrine Lindekugel, 94, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died April 1, 2012 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, NE.
She was born April 1, 1918 in Gothenburg, NE, daughter of Oscar and Nellie (Blede) Sandstrom.
Florence lived in Gothenburg until 2nd grade, family then moved south of Brady. She graduated from Brady High School in 1935, and then attended Kearney Normal College. She was a school teacher, teaching in country schools for 8 years. She married Charles William Lindekugel on January 24, 1946 in Oberlin, KS. To this union, five children were born: Jean, Kathryn, Tom, Barbara, and Donna.
Her gift of baking her many specialty pies was passed down from her Swedish mother and enjoyed by many through out the community. Her most precious gift to her were her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her four daughters - Jean (Charles) Hicks of McKinney, TX, Kathryn (Keith) Thompson of Grand Island, NE, Barbara (James) Franzen of Gothenburg, NE, Donna (Bill) Kovarik, Hickman, NE; son - Tom (Joan) Lindekugel of Cozad, NE; grandchildren-Kathleen (Robert) Bates, Michael (Kristie) Cunningham, Kelli Thompson, Kiley (Deb) Thompson, Krissa (Justin) Abraham, Kara Thompson, William Lindekugel, Matt (LaTonia) Lindekugel, Amanda Constanza, Chad (Janine) Franzen, Melissa (Justin) Mann, Cassie (Andy) Hilbers, Kristen (Matt) Crandall, Courtney Kovarik, and Shelby Kovarik, 19 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Florence was preceded in death by husband, Charles William Lindekugel; her parents Oscar and Nellie Sandstrom, her brothers Ben and Franklin and sisters Grace, Verna, and Ruth.
