Evelyn Rogers

December 8, 1916 — June 6, 2007

Evelyn Irene Rogers, 90, also known as "Evie" to those who loved and knew her, of Gothenburg, formerly of Farnam passed away June 6, 2007 at Gothenburg.


Evelyn was born to Roy and Fern Stubblefield on December 8, 1916 in Frontier County, where she grew up on a farm south of Eustis.


On April 1, 1933 she was married to Everett Rogers and farmed in the Orfino Community until January of 1968. They then sold the farm and moved to Farnam. They had no children, but loved and help raise nieces, nephews, and babysat the children of many friends. In 1998 they moved to Gothenburg where she resided until her death.


Evelyn loved to sew, raise gardens, can fruits and vegetables and share it with others. She was always available to lend a hand to help family and friends in need.


Many loved her and have good memories that will live on forever.


Her husband, Everett, preceded her in death, as well as her sister Dorothy Haynes and brothers Ray, George, and Dale Stubblefield.


Survivors include her sister-in-law Doris Stubblefield, her nieces & nephews: Larry (Carol) Surber of Lincoln, (Chuck) Jane Lemmert of North Platte, (Mike) Cherie Wilson of Gothenburg, Donna Suchan of Paul, ID; Mike (Sharon) Stubblefield of Wenatchee, WA; (Scott) Denise Gere of Entiat, WA; and (Al) Dalette Hobart of Wenatchee, WA.


Visitation will be Thursday, June 14, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel.


Graveside Services will be Friday, June 15, 2007, 11:00 a.m. at Eustis West Cemetery with Pastor Randy Dilts Officiating.


Memorials may be given to the Farnam Fire Department.
