Eugene Campbell, 92, of Curtis, Nebraska, died April 18, 2021 at his home south of Curtis.
He was born October 9, 1928 in St. Ann, NE, son of Neal and Bernice (Kolbet) Campbell.
Eugene served his country from February 15, 1951 - February 3, 1953 stationed in Alabama and Alaska. On July 3, 1952 Eugene married Muriel Koetter at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in McCook. Eugene spent his life farming and ranching on his farm south of Curtis.
He loved to spend time on his Harley, and could often be found in his shop welding and tinkering around. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Curtis and served on the Federal Land Bank board.
Survivors include children; Catherine Campbell of Curtis, Doug Campbell of Curtis, Diane Campbell (Tom) of Ladonia, TX, Ted (Angie) Campbell of Curtis, and Tom (Melisa) Campbell of Curtis, grandchildren, Mandy, Kacey, Delton, Dustin, Bret, Spencer, Tempest, Cassidee, Kyle, Dirk, Allison, and Nadia, great-grandchildren, Colton, Ireland, Lilly, Bentley, Cohen, Cora, and Reid, brother, Melvin Campbell of Stratton, sisters, Barb Kennedy of Sutherland, Sharon Campbell of Bemidji, MN, and Nora Mulberry of Idaho Falls, ID, daughter-in-law Linda Campbell of McCook, along with many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
Eugene was preceded in death by wife, Muriel, parents Neal and Bernice, son, Calvin Campbell, brothers Pete Campbell and Carl Campbell, and sister Maxine Hock.
Visitation will be held at St. James Catholic Church, Curtis, Nebraska; Thursday, April 22, 2021, 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm with the family present from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm. A rosary will follow at 6:00 PM.
Services will be held at St. James Catholic Church, Friday, April 23, 2021 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Bernard Kimminau officiating.
Interment will follow in the Arbor Cemetery, Stockville, NE.
Memorials may be given to the Curtis EMT's, or the Curtis Volunteer Fire Department.
