Eleanor Marie Callan, age 80 of McCook, Nebraska, formerly of Stockville, Nebraska, passed away December 14, 2006 at her home in McCook.
Eleanor was born on June 24, 1926 to Carl I. And Martha (Herrick) Stinman south of Curtis. She attended school at Moorefield and lived the majority of her life in Frontier County.
Eleanor married Charles Callan on May 10, 1973 in Oberlin, Kansas. The couple made their home in Stockville.
Eleanor was a very caring and compassionate person. She cared for her mother until her death and she always enjoyed visiting neighbors and friends as well as spending time with her nephew and family.
Eleanor was proceeded in death by her parents, husband, and three brothers Warren, Calvin, and Eldon (Pete) Stinman.
Eleanor is survived by her nephew John and wife Gaylene Stinman of Maywood, NE, a niece Kathy Kaup of Oxford, NE, seven great nieces and nephews and eight great great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 21, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at the Congregational Church in Stockville, Nebraska, with Dale Heimer, officiating. Burial will follow in the Arbor Cemetery near Stockville. There is no visitation, register book will be available to sign at the church prior to services.
Memorials are suggested to the Eleanor M. Callan Memorial Fund in Care of the Blase-Wetzel-Strauser Memorial Chapel 315 Center Ave. Curtis, NE 69025.
