Douglas William Sitorius, 71, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died December 3, 2021 in Kearney, NE.

He was born April 28, 1950 in North Platte, NE son of Virgil and Ruth (Bartlett) Sitorius of Gothenburg, NE.

Doug grew up in Gothenburg and graduated from Gothenburg High School with the class of 1968.  He then started farming along side of his father. He was engaged in agriculture his entire life.  His hobbies were fishing, riding horses, roping, and woodworking.  He loved his garden and especially his sweet corn patch.  He also enjoyed fixing up antique tractors.

Survivors include his wife, Connie Sitorius of Gothenburg; son: Jeremy (Tricia) Sitorius, and their children Nataleagh of Lincoln, and Liliana of Bozeman, MT, daughter Jennifer (David) Campa, and their children Kenidi of Bozeman, MT, and Colton of Santa Clara, CA and step son, Ryan (Heather) Linden, and their children Jessah, Keagyn, Arianah and Ellah of York,  two sisters, Kay (Grant) Hinze of Holdrege and JoLyne Johnson of Gothenburg.

Douglas was preceded in death by his parents Virgil and Ruth Sitorius.

Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Thursday, December 9, 2021, 1:00 pm - 7:00 pm, with family present 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm.

Services will be held at First Baptist Church, Friday, December 10, 2021 at 10:00 am with Dan Urman officiating.

Burial will follow in the Gothenburg Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the Gothenburg High School FFA and The Gothenburg Senior Center.
