Dorothy Caroline Kline, 89, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died September 25, 2011 in Gothenburg, NE.
She was born February 1, 1922 in Gothenburg, NE, daughter of Louis F. and Laura R. (Coke) Heuer.
She was the owner and manager of Kline's Carousel Gift Shop. She worked as a secretary for the Gothenburg Housing Authority. She also worked as a receptionist for Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, First Presbyterian Church, and Gothenburg Senior Center. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, and other types of crafts. She also enjoyed flowers, gardening and taking her special pet Cricket for car rides. She received a special award from the tourism committee, for her time and effort to maintain and promote the Swedish Crosses Cemetery.
Survivors include three sons - Dave (Jeanine) Kline of Gothenburg, NE, Mark (Patty) Kline of Manhattan, KS, Kent (Marian) Kline of Gothenburg, NE; daughter - Kandace (Bradley) Speer of Covington, VA; four grandsons - Mitchell (Elsa) Kline of Commerce City, CO, Jason (Megan) Kline of Littleton, CO, Christopher (Amanda) Kline of Holdrege, NE, Jeremiah (Mary-Anne) Kline of El Paso, TX; four granddaughters - Kelli (Ryan) Smith of Manhattan, KS, Shannon (Jesse) Labenz of Columbus, NE, Haley (Andrew) Cowan of Colorado Springs, CO, Stephanie Speer of Washington DC, MD; 11 great grandchildren.
Dorothy was preceded in death by husband, Bruce Milton Kline, her parents, sister, Marian Olin, brother, Kenneth Heuer, grandson, Casey Dutch Heuer Kline.
