Doris "Dotty" Davis, 80, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died February 25, 2015 at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg, NE.
Doris was born July 5, 1934 in Athens, OH, to Orthe and Francis (Cook) Potts. She grew up and attended school in Port Clinton, OH.
Doris married Robert Davis on July 22, 1952 at her parents home in Port Clinton, OH to this union four children were born - Jimmy, Mark, Peggy and Missy.
Doris and Bob moved all over the United States as Bob was in the US Navy for over 30 years. Following Bob's retirement they lived between Council Bluffs, Iowa and the Gothenburg area until they moved back to Gothenburg in 2011.
Doris was always very active in Children's Church from Sunday School to VBS. She enjoyed baking, flower gardening and babysitting.
Doris is survived by husband, Robert James Davis of Gothenburg, NE, two sons Jimmy Davis of Council Bluffs, IA and Mark Davis of Jasper, MN; two daughters Peggy Brayman of Gothenburg, NE, and Missy (Lynn) Brittenham of Moorefield, NE; seven grandchildren: Chanda and Micah of Council Bluffs, Sarah of Clarksville, AR, Joe of Council Bluffs, IA; Melanie of Jasper, MN; Austin, Holly, and Jacob of Moorefield; nine great grandchildren; and numerous great great grandchildren; two sisters Pattie (Emerson) Howell and Nola King all of Port Clinton, OH; sister-in-law Ruth Sorenson of Council Bluffs, IA and numerous nieces and nephews.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Delbert and Orthe, Jr; and two sisters Wanda Nichols and Wilma Smith.
Private family services will be held at the Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell, NE.
