Dickie "Bub" C. Newbrey, 69 of Eustis died on February 16, 2008 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.

Bub was born on September 8, 1939 to Grover and Lucille V. (Allen) Newbrey at Cozad, NE. He grew up in Cozad attending Cozad Public Schools.

Bub worked various jobs as a ranch hand but most of his working days he spent working at Hay Mills and driving truck.

On August 9, 1958 Bub married Arleen DeLosh at Cozad, NE. To this union four sons were born: Alan, Jerry, Brian, and Jesse. Bub and his family moved to Oklahoma City to be closer to his brother Ted. After about four years they moved back to Cozad.

Bub enjoyed music, playing in country music bands for about 12 years; six of those years he was able to play with his brother. He played the rhythm and bass guitar, drums and sang. He loved to visit his brother in Arkansas and go trout fishing. He always enjoyed spending time with his boys. They enjoyed hunting birds and deer. Bub always enjoyed camping and fishing as a family.

Bub is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Arleen of Eustis; three sons Jerry (Clara) Newbrey of Wheatland, WY; Brian Newbrey of Eustis; Jesse L. Newbrey and special friend Connie Jenner of Gothenburg; brother Steven Newbrey of Melburn, AR; two sisters: Anna (Archie) Chaves of Cozad; Lyla (Robert) Sabin of Del City, OK; two sisters-in-law June (Jim) Sabin of Gothenburg; Lois (Dennis) Beran of Grand Island; one brother-in-law Richard (Kay) DeLosh of Grand Island; eight grandchildren: John, Dan, Shiloah, Chris, Sarah, Shawn, Casey and Adam and eight great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his son Alan, Brother Ted, great-granddaughter Marisa, brother-in-law John DeLosh and his mother and father-in-law.
