Dickie Lee Hazen, 78, of Wellfleet, Nebraska, died March 15, 2012 at his home in Wellfleet, NE.
He was born September 9, 1933 in Wellfleet, NE, son of Clair Leslie and Helen (Amstuz) Hazen.
Dickie grew up in Wellfleet and attended Lincoln County Schools. He graduated from the Nebraska School of Agriculture, Curtis; in May 1952.
He served his country in the US Navy from 1950-1954.
Dickie married Janis Alexander in August of 1957. To this union five children born Chuck, Lonnie, Ronda, Sheila and Audie.
He worked at Missouri Valley Construction. He worked for Union Pacific Railroad as a car man and engineer. He also farmed in the Wellfleet area. Dickie was a member of the VFW Maywood, NE. Eagles North Platte 2839, Legion North Platte, NE. His favorite activities and interests included fishing, hunting, farming, ag production, spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Surviving are sons, Chuck (Sue) Hazen of Omaha, NE; son, Lonnie (Teresa) Hazen of Wellfleet, son, Audie (Danielle) Hazen of North Platte, daughters, Ronda (Douglas) Edwards of North Platte, daughter, Sheila (Ron) Hulme of Grand Island, 15 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild.
Dickie was preceded in death by father, Clair Leslie Hazen, mother, Helen Hazen, brother, Fritzie Hazen, infant sister, Judith Hazen.
