Delores Knoedler 73, of Brady NE passed away at her home at Jeffery Lake on March 26, 2007.
Delores Lorene Knoedler was born on September 19, 1933 in Gothenburg, the youngest of four children of Charlie and Hattie Peterson Anderson. Delores grew up north of Gothenburg in the Etna community and graduated from Gothenburg High School in 1950.
On February 17, 1951 she was united in marriage to Harold E. Knoedler at St. John's Lutheran Church in Gothenburg where they made their home. They raised four children: Diane, Layne, Kirt, and Nancy. In October 1958, Harold & Delores opened an auto repair business called "Rite-Way Auto Service". Delores became the bookkeeper for the business that they continued to operate until 1992. In 1988, Harold & Delores sold their home in Gothenburg and moved to Jeffrey Lake south of Brady. Delores worked at Shores Bar & Grill in Brady for 12 years, retiring when the business closed in 2005. Delores enjoyed bowling for many years attending 42 consecutive state bowling tournaments, using her talent of cooking to prepare large meals for family gatherings and hosting friends and family at their lake home.
She is survived by her husband Harold of Brady, children: Diane (Calvin) Streeter of Plugerville, TX; Layne (Lyn) Knoedler of Kearney; Kirt (Heidi) Knoedler of Gothenburg; and Nancy (Kenneth) Christensen of Gothenburg; a brother Wesley Andserson and a sister Opal Maline both of Gothenburg; 10 grandchildren: Brian Streeter, Aaron Streeter, Lance (Aimee) Knoedler, Lyndsey (Troy) Douglas , Joe Knoedler, Megan Knoedler, & Mark Rudma, Stacy (Andy) Kubik, Isaac Christensen, Eric Christensen; 3 great grandchildren: Brooklyn and Raegan Douglas and Adriana Christensen; special friend Jan Cromer of Brady; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Wallace Anderson.
Visitation will be 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 28 with Family present from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, March 29, 2007 at American Lutheran Church Gothenburg, Nebraska with Pastor Matthew Groenke officiating.
Burial will be at Fort McPherson National Cemetery Maxwell, Nebraska.
Memorial Directed To: Brady Volunteer Fire Department, American Lutheran Church, Callahan Cancer Center.
