David Paul Coakley, 67, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died May 13, 2022 at CHI in Kearney, NE.
He was born October 19, 1954 in Hobart, OK, son of Billy Paul and Mary K. (Miller) Coakley .
David grew up in Stillwater, OK. He attended school at C.E. Donart and graduated from Bellevue University with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. David married Linda Reyna, on June 22, 1974 in Tulia, TX and to this union two sons were born, David, Jr. and Shea. They were happily married for 46 years. They lived throughout Texas and Kansas before settling in Lexington 1990. In 2008 they made their home in Gothenburg.
David worked for Union Pacific Railroad as an engineer, retiring just over three years ago. He loved fishing and playing golf any chance he got. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He loved his Oklahoma State Cowboys football and watching any college football and baseball he could.
Survivors include two sons, Shea (Nikki) Coakley of Kearney, NE, David (Darcie Smith) Coakley, Jr. of Syracuse, NE; three grandchildren Lexie, Mason (Chloe), Landon; three brothers, Joe (Janet) Coakley of Stillwater, OK; Rick (Debbie) Moore of Liberty Hills, TX; Frank (Dalia) Moore of Manfield, TX; mother, Mary K. Moore of Stillwater, OK; Special friend, Tammy Fleming of Lexington; along with many extended family and friends.
David was preceded in death by wife, Linda Yvonne Coakley, father, Billy Paul Coakley and his grandparents.
Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Monday, May 16, 2022, 1:00 pm - 7:00 pm with the family present from 4:00-6:00 pm.
Services will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, 620 10th St, Gothenburg, NE; May 17, 2022 at 10:00 am.
Burial will follow in the Gothenburg Cemetery, Gothenburg, NE.
Memorials may be given to the St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TX 38105.
