Caryl Mae (Sall) Nordin of Gothenburg, Nebraska was promoted to heaven on February 20, 2022 at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg, Nebraska.
Caryl Mae was born May 13, 1927 in Gothenburg to Rueben and Gladys (Nelson) Sall. She attended District 90 Elementary and Junior High School north of town. She went on to graduate from Gothenburg High School in 1944. After graduation, she worked at Nifty Cleaners in Gothenburg until she was married.
On September 27, 1947 Caryl Mae married Lloyd Nordin. The couple had four daughters: Kathleen, Patricia, Jo Lynn and Pamela.
Caryl Mae was an active member of the Evangelical Free Church. She served on several committees there, sang in the church choir and taught Sunday school. Additionally, she served as the Chairman of the White Cross Board and both the National and District WMS Board.
Survivors include her daughters; Kathleen Nordin of Omaha, NE: Patricia (Jerry) Shinley of Queen Creek, AZ and their children Kristen (Glenn) Morris and Brandon Shinley: Jo Lynn Van Cleave of Omaha, NE and her children Cameron (Chrissie) Van Cleave and Cortney (Jeff) Anderson: Pamela Henry of Davie, FL and her children Michelle (Anthony) Jackson, Philiana Conley, Damon (Stephanie) Ruffin, Jared (Janet) Ruffin, Brittany (Paul) Fewell; fourteen great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; sisters Marion Larson and Marlene (Sid) Andersen; and many nieces and nephews.
Caryl Mae was preceded in death by her parents Reuben and Gladys; her husband Lloyd, her brothers Richard and Bob; one infant sister Marilyn; sisters in-laws Alice Carlson, Violet Nordin, and Frances Nordin; brother-in laws Mike Larson and Walter Nordin and son-in-law Phillip Ruffin.
Her family will remember her as a fierce, constant prayer warrior and an AMAZING cook.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 24, 2022, 4:00 - 7:00 pm at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; with family present from 4:00 - 6:00 pm.
Services will be held at Cornerstone Bible Church, Friday, February 25, 2022 at 10:30 am with Pastor Scott Newman officiating.
Interment will follow at Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, NE.
Memorials may be given to the Cornerstone Bible Church, 1721 Lake Avenue, Gothenburg, NE 69138.
