Carol Hencey

Carol Jeanette Hencey, 87, went to her heavenly home on November 7, 2023 at Life Care Center in Longmont, CO.

Carol was a woman of faith, who loved the Lord, her family and friends.

Carol was born June 4, 1936, in Gothenburg, NE.  She graduated from Gothenburg High School in 1954. 

She met the love of her life, Garey Wagner Hencey, in 1957.  They married on January 19, 1958.  Together, they were blessed with six children.  Their life adventure took them to many places, including Oregon, California, Florida and Colorado.

Carol loved being a wife and mother.  She dedicated her life to serving others. 

She enjoyed celebrating any special day or event with family.  She particularly enjoyed going to all of their sports events.  Carol had a unique gift of creating beautiful handmade crafts, which she gifted to many.

Carol’s Christian faith was an essential part of her life.  She loved Jesus and lived a life full of the fruits of the spirit, Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness,  and Gentleness.

Carol is survived by her children Ron, Mike, Michelle, Brenda, Brad and Pam, 12 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Elnora Fickenscher, and her husband, Garey.

A Celebration of Life will be held Blase Strauser Memorial Chapel at 620 10th St Gothenburg, Nebraska on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 11:00am.
