Betty Lucille DeFruiter, 82, of Arapahoe, passed away on May 16, 2009 at the Arapahoe, NE.
She was born on May 10, 1927 to John and Minnie (Jensen) Selk at Lexington, NE. She attended and graduated school from Lexington High School.
Betty worked on the Production Line for Monroe's for 28 years.
In 1945, she married David C. Frew in Lexington, NE. In 1972, she married Alfred DeFruiter in Gothenburg.
Betty and Alfred lived in Gothenburg, Nebraska.
Betty enjoyed bowling in her early years, her vegetable gardens, playing cards, flowers, baking, especially cakes, crotcheting afgans, sewing and making clothing for her daughters growing up, cooking, music, dancing, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a member of Methodist Circles, Eastern Star, and enjoyed teaching Sunday and Bible school.
Betty is survived by daughter(s) - Cynthia (Cindy) (Dick) MaMahon of Rockford, IL, Patricia (Trish) (Roger) Houser of Cambridge, NE, Marsha Ellison of Gothenburg, NE, Becky (Darrel) Naylor of Brighton, CO; granddaughter(s) - Jami (Dan) Schulz, Stephanie (special friend Tom) Fochtman, Catherine (special friend Chuck) Fochtman; grandson(s) - Paul (special friend Jamie) Fochtman, Michael Fochtman and fiance Jessica , Dustin Naylor, Bronson Naylor, Heath Naylor; great-granddaughter(s) - Krista Besler, Jadan Schulz, Sara Fochtman, Anna Miller, Libby Miller; great-grandson(s) - Cody Head, Brendan Head, Dustin Miller, Damion Fochtman.
She was preceded in death by husband, Alfred John DeFruiter, father, John Selk, mother, Minnie Selk, ex-husband, David C. Frew, brother, Dale Robert Selk, grandson, Chad Naylor.
