Betsy Waters

Betsy Morris Waters, 81, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, formerly of Hollywood , FL, died February 11, 2012 at Great Plains Regional Medical Center, North Platte, NE.

She was born February 4, 1931 in Parkersburg, WV, daughter of Ben Wallace Morris and Bess Lucille McKinley Morris. Betsy had one younger brother Benjamin.

Betsy earned a Masters in Chemistry at the University of West Virginia and went back to get a Master in Library Science at the University of Buffalo in New York once her children were teenagers. She worked many years for Moore Business Forms in Grand Island , NY as a Research Librarian until her retirement. Betsy moved to Bonita Springs, FL to enjoy the sun after retirement. As a former librarian, she loved to read and as a researcher, mysteries were the most fascinating to her. Betsy loved to travel and took trips all over Canada and Europe. She met many friends from all over the world that she kept in touch with over the years. Betsy was active in the Bonita Springs Historical Society as their treasurer and in the United Methodist Women's Group for many years in Bonita Springs, FL. Betsy was an avid water walker and continued her exercise regime when she moved to Hollywood, FL in 2009 to be close to her daughter, Susan. In December 2011, she moved again to Stone Hearth in Gothenburg, NE to enjoy being around her only two grandchildren.

Betsy leaves a son, William Kent of Winchester, ID; two daughters, Susan Leigh Seiler of Hollywood, FL; and Mary Elizabeth "Becky" Cudzilo of Brady, NE; and two granddaughters, Savannah Irene Cudzilo and Piper C'Aira Dawn Cudzilo, also of Brady, NE.

Betsy was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Benjamin and her husband Carl.

Services will be private. Donations may be sent to the Building Fund of Estero United Methodist Church, P0 Box 68, Estero, FL 33928 or to the Endowment Fund of Trinity United Methodist Church, P0 Box 38, Grand Island, NY 14072.
