Bernice Francis Gronewold, 90, longtime Gothenburg resident, died February 26, 2011.

She was born October 30, 1920 in Willow Island, NE, daughter of Ernest and Myrtle Rasmussen.

She married Tony Gronewold in the Christ Lutheran Church, Gothenburg, NE.

Bernice enjoyed living in the country, watching the cattle and other livestock and birds. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and was a member of the Rose Society, the American Lutheran Church, a Stephens Minister and the Dawson County Historical Society. She was a 4H Leader and always had time for bridge, Monday afternoons.

Surviving are son, Loren (Carol Jean) Gronewold of Sedona, AZ, son-in-law, Carroll Kinnaman of Bloomington, IL, daughters, Carol (Ron) Hudson of Shelton, NE, Karma (Michael) Ripp of Kearney, NE, and Patricia "Perch" (James) Harris of Cozad, NE, sister, Eileen Cunning of El Monte, CA, 6 grandchildren, Stacey Winters, Mark Hudson, Chad Ripp, Christopher Ripp, Nathan Kinnaman, Barrie Kuhn and 7 great-grandchlildren.

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Tony, of 40 years and a daughter, Karen Kinnaman.
