Berdine Norlander

Berdine A. Norlander, 87, of Booneville, MS passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2023 at her home. Funeral services are set for Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 3 pm at Magnolia Funeral Home - East. Visitation will be Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 1pm-3pm at Magnolia Funeral Home -East. Following services in Mississippi, Mrs. Norlander will be taken to Maywood, Nebraska for interment in Maywood Cemetery. She was born April 21, 1936 in Imperial, Nebraska to the late Glen Carr and Velma Bussard Carr. Berdine was a homemaker and of the Christian faith. She loved her family and friends and enjoyed painting, quilting, crocheting, watching her hummingbirds and working in her flower garden. Berdine was a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class at Tate Baptist Church where she made lots of friends and loved going to all their activities. She also attended Church of the Crossroads with her daughter. 

Those left to cherish Mrs. Norlander's memories include her daughter, Judy Hewson Sims; sons, Bruce Hewson (Marina); Alan Hewson and Keven Scott Hewson; stepdaughters, Diane Soli (George) and Nancy Smith (Danny); stepson, Steve Norlander (Laurie); 16 grandchildren; 20+ great grandchildren; brother, Virgil Carr; sisters, Naomi Pinger, Ruth Ann Shelton (Jack) and Audrey Marten (Les); other relatives and a host of friends. 

She is preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Robert Norlander; father, Glen Carr; mother, Velma Bussard Carr; and stepson, David Norlander. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mrs. Berdine A. Norlander.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, August 22,2023, 10:00 AM, at the Maywood Cemetery, Maywood, NE.
