Biography

Barbara Jane Yoder, 82, of Willow Island, passed away on April 16, 2009 surrounded by her loving family at Willow Island, NE.

Barb and her twin sister Bonnie were born on June 30, 1926 to Roy and Ruth (Lewis) Crowner at Cozad, NE. She grew up in Roten Valley near Cozad. She attended school at Cozad and graduated from Cozad High School. On June 27, 1945 she married Kenneth Yoder at Norton, KS. Barb and Ken resided at Willow Island, Nebraska since 1948. Barb was the Postmaster at Willow Island for 33 years.

She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Flatlanders Car Club. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, embroidery and quilting, collecting beanie babies, flowers and gardening, her kitties, and Bible study groups. Barb and Bonnie enjoyed traveling to Nebraska twins conventions. Barb mastered the computer later in life and enjoyed using email to keep in contact with her family and friends.

Barb is survived by her daughters - Pat (Henry) Potter of Elsie, NE; Carolyn (Curt) Ronnekamp of Towanda, IL; Cindy (Don) Cornette of Grand Island, NE; sister - Bonnie (Boyd) Harris of Ogallala, NE; grandsons - Chad Ronnekamp, Frank Potter, Trevor Cornette, Roy (Stephanie) Potter; granddaughters - Heather (Brian) Bradley, Carmen McGuire; great-grandsons - Cameron Bradley, Colby McGuire, Trey Cornette; great-granddaughters - Halie Ronnekamp, Reilly McGuire, Makenzie Bradley, Sarah Potter, Emmily Potter; and numerous nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Ken Yoder.
