Barbara Stroupe

Barbara Stroupe 68 of Curtis passed to heaven April 17, 2008 at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte, NE.


Barbara Stroupe was born in Crawford, Nebraska October 4, 1939 to David and Ethel (Alley) Inman, actually living in Horn, Nebraska. Barbara graduated from Crawford High School with high honors as the class Salutatorian in 1957. She later moved to Omaha and worked for Mutual of Omaha and Pamida as an artist in their art departments. Barb later became head of the Art Department for Sun Newspapers in Omaha. Her artistic ability allowed her many accolades in the Southwest Artist Club including outstanding Nebraska Artist.


Barbara married Ken Stroupe in the Baptist Church in Henderson, Nevada October 30, 1976. In 1981 they moved to Maywood, Nebraska. Barbara became president of Omega Technical School which was responsible for training piano technicians. Barbara was a major player in Ken's Band instructor endeavors as a hands-on assistant. She was partially responsible for the bands many successes.


She is survived by her husband, Ken and their three children; daughter, Darce Kratch and her husband, Dan of Gretna; son, David Iske and his wife Diana of Waterloo; step-daughter, Dr Scotti Veale and her husband, Dr Tom Veale of Colorado Springs, CO; Sisters Charlene Stauffer and her husband Rex of Harrisburg and Donna Dudden of Ogallala; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and two nieces and one nephew. Barb will miss and be missed by her friends in the Maywood and Curtis area.


She was preceded in death by her parents and step-son, Jeffrey Stroupe.


A golden heart stopped beating; hard working hands were laid to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the very best.


There will be a private family memorial at the Blaze-Wetzel-Strauser Memorial Chapel Curtis, Nebraska.
