Barbara Nielsen

Barbara D. Sokol Johnson Nielsen, 45, of Gothenburg passed away on November 4, 2007.

Barbara was born on February 22, 1962 at Gothenburg to Leonard E. and Bonnie L. (Shaw) Sokol. She graduated from Gothenburg High School . Barbara worked for Gothenburg Hospital , Dr. Bartruff and the Baptist Church .

Barbara married Doug Johnson at Gothenburg on May 14, 1983, to this union a daughter Natasha Lynn was born.  They later divorced.

Barbara married Ryan Nielsen at Lexington on April 8, 1994. Barbara loved to spend time with her family and friends, and her animals.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include: her husband Ryan Nielsen of Gothenburg, her daughter Natasha Lynn Johnson of Gothenburg, her step-children Nathan Nielsen of Atlanta, GA; and Angela Marie Davis of Gothenburg; a brother Edward Sokol of Scottsbluff and a sister Mary Ann Nova of Kearney; and one grandchild.

Visitation will be held 1-8 pm, Wednesday Nov. 7 with family present from 6-8 at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg , Nebraska .

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, Nov. 8 at the First Baptist Church , Gothenburg , Nebraska , with Pastor Tom Harris officiating.

Burial will take place in the Gothenburg Cemetery .
