Annabelle Holmes

Annabelle Holmes, 89, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, went to be with the Lord, Friday, August 16, 2019 at Gothenburg Health.

She was born October 20, 1929 in Gothenburg, daughter of Paul and Martha Larson. Annabelle grew up in Gothenburg and graduated from Gothenburg High School.

She married James D. Holmes on April 19, 1951. To this union two sons were born: Jed and Kim.

Annabelle accepted Christ as her savior in 1951. She was a member of the Evangelical free church, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, and participated in women's ministries, and worked with MOPS. She enjoyed painting ceramic dolls, and spending time with her family.

Surviving are sons, Jed (Susie) Holmes of Valley Center, KS, Kim Holmes of Lincoln, NE grandson, Jordan (Amelia) Holmes of Omaha, granddaughter, Jamie (Adam) Gatchell of Nashville, TN, grandson, Jake (Britany) Holmes of Pittsburgh, PA, great-grandson Henry Jordan Holmes, sister-in-law, Jenelle Larson of Gothenburg, brother-in-law, Mervin Titchen of North Platte, NE, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Annabelle was preceded in death by husband, Jim, her parents, brothers, Raymond Larson, Jim Larson, Bernie Larson, sisters, Katherine Aden, and Barbara Titchen, and sisters-in-laws, Bobbie Larson, Ellen Larson, and Bertha Tetro, and brother-in-law Don Aden.

Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Thursday, August 22, 2019 from 1:00 PM - 7:00 PM with the family present from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM.

Services will be held at Evangelical Free Church, Friday, August 23, 2019 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Scott Newman officiating.

Interment will follow in the Fort McPherson National Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the Evangelical Free Church.
