Anita Stickelman

October 28, 1933 — March 15, 2012

Anita "Iliene" Imler Stickleman, 78, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died March 15, 2012 in Gothenburg, NE.

Anita was Mother, Daughter, Sister, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Her focus was always on family. Iliene’s career was varied. She worked as a nurse. She also worked at Monroe Auto, and owned her own restaurant at one point in Gothenburg. She always worked very hard and was frugal with what she had.

Anita was born in Curtis, Nebraska, on October 28, 1933. Her parents were Lorand and Lucille Welch who lived on a farm north of Moorefield, Nebraska. She was the first of six children, four brothers and one sister. Iliene attended school in Moorefield and later attended Curtis High School.

Iliene married Edwin Imler on January, 28, 1950. They resided in Brady, Nebraska most of their married life. They had five children; Ira Imler, Alice Goiter (Mitch), Walter Imler (Lorene), Rhonda Imler and Mary Bodfield (Larry). She has eighteen grandchildren and thirty-two great grandchildren.

As she grew older she spent many hours with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She played games with them, showed them how things in life worked. Her grandchildren enjoyed the time she spent with them. The grandchildren said they enjoyed spending time with “Grannie” more than with anyone. They said all their friends would love to come spend time with her and many times came over just for that.

Iliene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edwin lmler, her youngest daughter, Mary Bodfield and two infant children.
