Alvin M. Bringelson, 92, of Gothenburg, died on August 29, 2007 at Gothenburg NE.
Alvin M. Bringelson was born in Webster County, near Inavale, Nebraska on June 15, 1915, to Otto and Carin Marie Nelson Bringelson.
Alvin attended elementary schools in Webster County as a child. Following his mothers' death in 1924, he made his home with relatives at Farnam, NE. He graduated from Farnam High School in 1934. He then came to the Gothenburg area and found employment with several Banner Community families during the Depression. He worked as a farm hand until 1938 when he became a farming partner of Rahl Buddenberg.
He married Rachel Hyde on June 3, 1938 at Banner United Methodist Church. Alvin and Rachel were the parents of 2 children: Richard Alvin and Deborah Rae.
Alvin farmed south of Gothenburg until 1965 when he and Rachel moved to their farm south of Maxwell, Nebraska. They resided there until 1984 when they retired in Gothenburg, Nebraska. In 2005 they moved into Stone Hearth Estates in Gothenburg.
Alvin was a 73 year member of the Banner United Methodist Church where he was active on Boards & Committees. He was a past Master Gothenburg Lodge A.F. and A.M. No. 249, 32 degree Scottish Rite of the Masons, and a Past Member of the Easter Star. He served as President at the Maxwell Rural Fire District for 18 years and also served on the Elevator and Bank Boards. He was a leader in 4-H livestock clubs and a charter member of Lion's Club.
Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Rachel, sisters Elsie, Hazel, Eleanor, and Francis, his brother John, a son-in-law Jerome Spading, a grandson Mark Spading.
Survivors include one son: Richard A. and Julie (Ferris) Bringelson of Doniphan, NE. One daughter: Deborah Rae (Bringelson) Spading of North Platte, NE; Five grandchildren: Liwana Bringelson of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada; Dawn Bringelson of Denton, NE; Carin Bringelson of Madison, WI; Melissa (Spading) Jerabek of Omaha, NE and Elizabeth (Spading) Freeze of Bridgeport, NE. Twelve Great Grandchildren. One sister: Esther Burwell of Inavale, NE
Visitation will be held Sunday, September 2, 2007 from 1:00 p.m.é�a��a�?7:00 p.m. with the family present from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 3, 2007, 10:00 a.m. at the Banner United Methodist Church, Gothenburg, Nebraska, with Pastor Janie Freeman officiating.
Burial will take place in the Gothenburg Cemetery.
