Allan Daub

Allan Roy Daub, 88, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died September 22, 2018 in Gothenburg, NE.

He was born June 13, 1930 in Enderlin, ND, son of Roy Winiford and Esther Helene (Robertson) Daub.  Allan served his country in the US Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1955.

Allan married Susan Mudick on July 18, 1956, they lived in Colorado from 1954 to 2003 living in Rifle, Ridgeway, Hotchkiss, Fruita, Grand Junction and Arvada. They moved to Gothenburg in 2003.  Allan was employed by the Rio Grande Rail Road and they moved often because of his job.  He was a depot agent until 1971, he then transitioned to a dispatcher for the rest of his career. His children have fond memories of going to work at the depot with dad, playing on the equipment and hanging out with dad.

Allan enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. He often fed his family from the bounty of his skills. He was a great dancer and spent many hours spinning Susan around the dance floor. His family was very important to him. He was a member of the American Lutheran Church, and was an avid Broncos and Huskers fan.

Surviving are his daughters, Constance Daub, Catherine (Keith) Hoffman; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; two sister, Florene Rogne, Pauline Hesse; extended family and friends.

Allan was preceded in death by wife, Susan Daub, son, Franklin Roy Daub, and his parents.

Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Friday, October 5, 2018, 1:00 pm - 7:00 pm with the family present from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm.

Funeral Services will be held at the American Lutheran Church, Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 10:00 am with Pastor Jon Mapa officiating.

Interment will follow in the Gothenburg Cemetery.
