Alice Berney Ewing, 89, of Los Angeles, CA formerly of Knoxville, TN passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at the Glendale Adventist Medical Center in Glendale, CA
Alice was born February 5, 1931 in Knoxville, TN to Paul E. and Eugenia (LeCoultre) Berney.  She graduated with the class of 1949 from Central High School.    On October 16, 1951 she married William B. Ewing in Knoxville, TN.  To this union they had five girls. While her husband attended college at the University of Tennessee she typed and proofread thesis for the students to help pay for college.   Our dear loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she loved her music, playing the piano, sewing and mending items for her children and grandchildren.  She had a real green thumb for her plants, and loved filling stomachs of her loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, three half-brothers, and two half-siste

Survivors include her loving husband of 68 1/2 years William (Bill) Ewing of Los Angeles, five daughters; Cheryl (Keith) Smith of Concord, CA; Brenda (Gary) Widholm of Gothenburg, NE; Elaine (Gary) Gysin of West Hills, CA; Kimberly Cole of Cumming, GA; Jill (Jimmer) Hanggi of Fullerton, CA; nine grandchildren; Gena, Dustin, Jordan, Lauren, Brett, Rachel, Allison, Ella and Jacob and seven great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Hollywood Hills, CA.
