Alice Larson Sall Carlson, 90, a lifetime resident of the Gothenburg, Nebraska area, died June 29, 2015 at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg, NE.
She was born April 26, 1925 at the family farm in Custer County, NE, daughter of Gust and Lillie (Moberg) Larson.
Alice attended the Hazel Dell rural school thru the sixth grade and received the rest of her education through High School in Gothenburg and graduated with the class of 1942. After graduation, Alice worked for Northwest Bell Telephone Company as a telephone operator until her marriage to Robert C Sall on March 26, 1947. They had three children, Rodney, Rhonda and Cindy. They were a busy farm family. Robert preceded her in death on September 18, 1980.
On May 5, 1985 she married Milford Carlson and he preceded her in death on July 22, 1988. She was a member of the Evangelical Free Church, the Etna Exchange Club, The Beliversize Exercise Class. Alice enjoyed traveling, baking, playing the piano, quilting, playing games with her grandchildren and taking them fishing. Her family and grandchildren were the joy of her life.
She is survived by a son, Rodney (Angie) Sall, two daughters, Rhonda (Dan) Peterson and Cindy (Tom) Fickenscher all of Gothenburg; eight grandchildren: Derek (Sarah) Peterson and Nathan & Scott; Casey (April) Peterson and Lily, Hope & Jasmine; Megan Peterson; Blake (Crystal) Sall and Shank, Shad, & Shayden; Brett (Brittney) Sall; Tyler (Beth) Fickenscher and Maxwell; Brady (Jillian) Fickenscher and Jude; and Levi (Lindsay) Fickenscher and Asher; three sisters-in-law Caryl Mae Nordin, Marian (Mike) Larson all of Gothenburg and Marlene (Sidney) Anderson Lexington. and other family members Pam Slack and Dale (Carol) Carlson.
Alice was preceded in death her parents Gust and Lille Larson, both of her husbands - Robert and Milford; a sister Ruth; brothers Chester and Carl; brother-in-law Lloyd Nordin.
Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Tuesday, June 30, 2015, 1:00 pm - 7:00 pm, with the family present from 5-7.
Services will be held at Evangelical Free Church, 1721 Lake Ave, Gothenburg, NE, Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 2:00 pm.
Private family interment will take place in the Gothenburg Cemetery.
